Abstract
Scientific estimation of the energy consumption of urban buildings is of great significance for reducing industry energy consumption and building low-carbon cities. This paper establishes a method for measuring the operation energy consumption of urban buildings and uses the STIRPAT model to analyse the factors affecting the operation energy consumption of buildings in Beijing. The results show that the factor that has the greatest impact on the operation energy consumption of buildings in Beijing is the output value of the tertiary industry, followed by the urbanization rate and disposable income per capita. The impact of the total population on the operation energy consumption of buildings in Beijing is relatively small. The results of the study show that doing a decent job in urban planning and raising residents’ awareness of low-carbon environmental protection are of great significance to the reduction of urban building operation energy consumption.
