Abstract
The dynamics of lasing of the CdS-microlaser have been studied experimentally under the conditions of 10 ns pumping pulses of N2-laser with (lambda) equals 0.3371 micrometers . It was found that the microlaser oscillates in pulse operation during single pulse pumping. The number of pulses and their durations depend on the efficiency of pumping. Depending on laser threshold overrun we observed from 1 to 6 pulses with durations (FWHM) 0.172 to 0.735 ns. We assume that the CdS-microlaser oscillation's peculiarities are similar to passively Q- switched lasers with a nonlinear saturated absorber. This platelet microlaser may be used in monolith integrated opticalics for optical computers and nonlinear optical devices and systems.
