Abstract
The Optics Laboratory can be an exciting and productive place to work or a source of constant frustration. If unlimited funds are available for the purchase of expensive optical devices frustration may be kept to a minimum, but as this is infrequently the situation a lot of ingenuity and inventiveness is an essential ingredient for success.
