Abstract
The causal predictor methods of DPCM image data compression can be replaced by non-causal or interpolative DPCM compression. A method for realizing interpolative DPCM is discussed, and can be implemented solely with incoherent optics and analog electronics. A digital simulation of this method is presented, with results showing performance comparable to conventional DPCM.
