Abstract
Algorithms for the automatic detection of defects, such as cracks and cavities in radiographs of artillery shells have been previously described. An array processor mechanization of these algorithms is now described that allows a 200 x 300 pixel array to be analyzed in less than 10 seconds. The algorithms were restructured to take advantage of the vector orientation of the array processor.
