Abstract
We describe an algorithm for three-dimensional display of discrete objects in a discrete space. There are no restrictions on the objects: they may be concave or convex, have holes (including interior holes) and can consist of disjoint parts. The algorithm permits independent and combinative visualization of surfaces of anatomical structures, such as bones or organs, inside the human body. The input for our algorithm is a binary scene derived from a consecutive set of segmented and interpolated computed tomography (CT) cross sections.
