Abstract
Coulomb corrections to temporal resolution of electron-optical image converter systems are estimated. A general treatment of the self-consistent field Coulomb problem for an electron bunch shows the temporal broadening of the electronic signal at small acceleration dis-tances to be mainly due to momentum space relaxation which is difficult to suppress.
