Abstract
Following the development of several high speed video image processors, the lack of such special purpose processors for applica-tions such as target tracking and image processing offering low power and volume was realized. A handful of shared algorithms for video target tracking and image processing were discovered and incorporated into the design. Realizing the design requirements, a methodology was established to develop a product that can support a wide range of applications, and a generic architecture to allow growth and a longer product life cycle.
