Abstract
Propotional exposure piled-plate holography, a new experimental technique to separate principal stresses for both static and dynamic photoelastic holography is described, solves the problem of principal stress separation in multi-frame recording dynamic photoelastic holography. Applying the new technique to the multi-frame recording dynamic photoelastic holography, the authors recorded eight separated dynamic stress patterns for four different transients of a plan plate subjected to an impacting load. The dynamic stresses of the plate are analysed.
