Abstract
An accurate wavelength-resolved method for the calculation of the coupling efficiency of laser pump cavities of the reflecting type is presented. An application of this method to different cavity geometries has been performed and predictions on the coupling efficiency have been obtained. These predictions are in good agreement with experimental results. A reflecting close-coupled cavity with a modified geometry has been designed and tested, to achieve a higher coupling efficiency with respect to the standard one.
