1 January 1987 Energy Distribution Of Diagnostic Scatter Radiation

A Monte Carlo method was developed and implemented to simulate x-ray photon transport through a 6 cm thick adipose phantom. Simulations consisted of molybdenum target x-ray spectra ranging from 20 kVp to 55 kVp. For comparison to polyenergetic simulations, corresponding monoenergetic runs were also performed. The dependence of; scatter fraction (SF), scatter-to-primary ratio (SP), and point spread function (PSF), on x-ray spectra is reported in quanta flux and energy flux.
