Abstract
Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEMs) and other related equipment have the potential for providing images of 1024 x 1024 pixels or greater, but at a very slow pixel clock rate. The Megavision 1024XM effeciently interfaces such unusual scanning formats due to its "asynchronous" input characteristics. Since the major tasks of interfacing are simplified or eliminated, the cost of high resolution image processing is now affordable by SEM users.
