Abstract
An interactive language, based on Prolog and intended for developing intelligent image processing heuristics and software, has been described elsewhere. The present article describes an interactive operating environment which is intended to assist in writing applications in this new language. This makes use of the pull-down menus available on the Apple Macintosh computer. In the present implementation, menus are provided for a wide range of utility functions, certain basic image manipulation and image measurement operations, the control of electromechanical devices and the writing of predicates for intelligent image processing. A list of predicates for image understanding is also defined. This forms another important part of the environment within which SuperVision applications are developed.
