Abstract
Next generation tactical missions cannot rely on threat information or countermeasure actions which depend solely on one sector of the electromagnetic spectrum. Rather, they must rely on an integrated, multi-sensor approach for "engagement information" extraction. Current programs such as Pave Pillar identify fusion as the key to the required positive and unambiguous situation and target assessment. A look at the fusion problem is presented which includes a conceptual description & functional flow.
