Abstract

The Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) is a 4x8m + 4x1.8m telescopes array which has been operating as an optical interferometer for more than a decade now. We offer a prospective for the upcoming decade (2018-2028) taking into account the current state of VLTI, the science cases of the 2^nd generation instruments (which started to be deployed in 2015), as well as the untapped possibilities offered by this unique facility.
