This paper makes an analysis of the behavior of LiFi transceivers using an experimental setup, an analysis is made by studying the opportunity to use Li-Fi technology, which is a two-way wireless technology similar to Wi-Fi technology. The experimental setup made some measurements about the bitrate versus transmission distance, using a modified media-converter. The paper will present a comparison between ordinary devices and specially engineered devices (fast LED’s and photodiodes). Also, it will compare different modulation schemes, different optical lenses – beamforming, different distances and positions between transceivers. In addition to this, a direct comparison LiFi - optical fiber - WiFi is made, using fiber optic connection as a reference.
