Abstract
In this paper, the photoacoustic detection of aqueous solutions mixed glucose and salt was experimentally studied based on the established photoacoustic detection system in the lateral mode. In the experimental system, the OPO pulsed laser was used as the excitation light source and the non-focused ultrasonic transducer was used to capture the photoacoustic signals. In the experiments, the test mixed aqueous solutions with different concentrations of glucose and salt were prepared by using the pure water. The time-resolved photoacoustic signals and photoacoustic peak-to-peak values of mixed aqueous solutions with different concentrations of glucose and salt were acquired with the average times of 128. Results show that the photoacoustic peak-to-peak values of mixed aqueous solutions increase with the increase of glucose concentration and salt concentration. At the same time, the ultrasonic velocity in the mixed aqueous solutions increases with the increase of glucose and salt concentrations. To better predict the glucose concentration in the mixed aqueous solutions, a kind of modified glucose concentration prediction models combined the photoacoustic peak-to-peak values with the ultrasonic velocity were established under the different concentrations of salt. The root-mean-square error (RMSE) of models were obtained and compared with the individual models of photoacoustic peak-to-peak value or the ultrasonic velocity. The prediction results show that the prediction RMSE values of modified model are less than that of the individual models, the RMSE value of predicted glucose concentration under 100mg/dl concentration of salt is about 8.75mg/dl.
