Abstract
The use of diffractive optical elements (DOEs) opens up new possibilities for controlling the beam shape and the beam intensity distribution for optical telecommunication systems. To increase the beam intensity at peripheries of the laser spot, it is necessary to redistribute the energy portion from the center of the optical element to those areas that are designed to operate under conditions of an exponentially low intensity. This is achieved by using laser beam with a ring distribution of flow intensity. For this case, regularities of the power redistribution of formed laser beams into a line segment, as well as changes in the focus distance and focal length when changing the spatial position of the diffractive optical element are established. The spatial distribution of intensity in the laser spot was measured with the application of CO2 laser. Results of experimental studies correlate well with the calculated data.
