Covestro developed a photopolymer film technology platform called Bayfol® HX to realize holographic optical elements light guiding and light management. Moritz will talk about the unique optical and mechanical characteristics which make them perfectly suitable for use in augmented reality such as Head-up-Displays (HUD) and Head-mounted-Displays (HMD) as free space combiner as well as in plastic waveguides and in transparent screens. As a film product, the replication of volume holographic optical elements can be carried out in highly cost-efficient roll to roll processes.
