Abstract
Many techniques for 3-D data acquisition exist and have been reviewed in the literature. Figures of merit have been published based upon key parameters. This paper first reviews the performance of high speed imagers. Then the performance of a high speed, high resolution 3-D laser scanning sensor developed at SVS will be examined. Results will be shown which illustrate the applicability of this imaging sensor for inspection of electronic components, solder paste, machined parts, etc.
