Abstract
Geomembrane material selection is the most critical problem of dam seepage prevention. This paper analyzes the key points of geomembrane selection from the aspects of geomembrane material, durability, thickness and composite mode, so as to provide some reference for the application of geomembrane in dam seepage prevention engineering. The key points of material selection include the following: the quality and uniformity of the internal components of the membrane and its adaptability to the deformation of the dam body, and should be combined with calculation to determine the thickness, avoid construction damage as far as possible to choose more than 1mm film thickness, the durability of geomembrembrances should be ensured by considering the effects of solar radiation, operating state, time effect, temperature, freeze-thaw and dry-wet changes on material properties, anti-aging measures, etc. The dam surface geomembrane seepage control is more inclined to use a composite factory of one cloth and one membrane, core rockfill dam geomembrane can be used in the form of two cloth and one membrane.
