Abstract
The paper reveals a new operating principle for a planar photonic transistor in which no electronic components or nonlinear optical modules are used for digital switching. The author investigates the design constraints associated with the switching function, the contribution of the "noise" factors as well as the integration of the switch in a logic processor.
