Abstract
Multielectrode laser diodes may be used to perform digital amplitude modulation signal processing. An important advantage of these devices is the ability to control lasing light output without using conventional high current electrical switches. Under different operating conditions, multielectrode lasers may also be used to implement digital wavelength switching.
