Abstract
In the context of upgrading the agricultural industry and sustained economic growth, agriculture and tourism have become significant pillars of regional economic development. In order to quantitively measure the development level of agriculture and tourism for 16 prefecture-level municipalities in Anhui province, this paper firstly generates the comprehensive index of the development level of agriculture and tourism for these cities by using the factor analysis. Based on the empirical results of factor analysis, these cities can be divided into three categories in terms of the comprehensive index: top-level, medium-level and low level. Hefei has the highest comprehensive index, and Tongling has the lowest comprehensive index. Overall, the development of agriculture and tourism for Anhui province is unbalanced, in which there are certain development gaps between these cities.
