Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to analyze the side slip of vehicles on freeway under cross wind, and establish a calculation method of safe driving speed of freeway vehicles under cross wind. The vehicle dynamics model is used to analyze the side slip condition of vehicles under the cross wind condition of freeway, and the safe driving speed is studied on this basis. Firstly, based on the comprehensive consideration of cross wind speed, vehicle type, road condition and vehicle speed, the driving stability of four typical vehicles in China is analyzed; Then, the safe driving speeds of different types of vehicles under different cross wind speeds are calculated. The results show that under the action of cross wind, the greater the vehicle speed is, the greater the risk of side slip is. On the freeway, an appropriate cross wind speed limit is needed to ensure the driving safety under cross wind conditions.
