Abstract
As the most promising solution for energy storage, lithium-ion batteries have the advantages of long life, higher energy, higher density and no memory effect. At the same time, its safety has attracted research interest. Battery failure can cause significant financial loss or even death. This paper, through the analysis of publication trend and subject terms co-occurrence, provides an overview of lithium-ion batteries fault. The results show that the number of publications grow at an exponential pace after 2010. Subject terms co-occurrence analysis finds thermal runaway is the most critical battery failure.
