Abstract
In this paper a different way of processing fluorescence images with median type filters is presented. The use of linear median hybrid filtering techniques in fluorescence microscopy is shown to be very promising in trying to achieve both increased recording speed and decreased photo damage to the biological sample. It is also shown that these linear median filtering methods can tuned for both confocal and conventional fluorescence microscopy. The parallelization of such a process is discussed.
