Abstract
According to the results of the seventh national census of the National Bureau of Statistics, there are more than 260 million elderly people over 60 years old in China, accounting for 18.7% of the total population of the country, of which the number of empty nesters exceeds 130 million. In recent years, there have been reports of sudden illness or accident at home in the elderly living alone, but no one found it, resulting in untimely treatment or even death. This paper designs a guardian system for the elderly living alone based on Zigbee wireless ad hoc network, which monitors electricity consumption, indoor and outdoor environmental data, pushes alarms when abnormal indoor conditions occur, and issues early warnings when the outdoor environment is not suitable for going out, so as to monitor and protect the safety of the elderly living alone in real time. The test shows that the system has good stability, accuracy and real-time performance.
