Projectiles in flight and explosives detonating underwater can be studied
using this range camera system, which yields high quality shadowgraph images.
Measurements are allowed of: the velocity, profile and attitude of projectiles
in flight; the profiles of the cavities made by bare and shaped charges
underwater; and the shock fields associated with these events. The cost of
each complete camera station was approximately £6000 when built.
