Abstract
The first attempts to obtain resonance Raman (RR) spectra of metalloporphyrin ir-anions1 and the works that followed24 showed that RR spectroscopy could be regarded as a method for studying the electronic structure of these compounds. This paper deals with the RR study of ir-anions of Zn-porphyrin complexes. We focus on the analysis of changes in the electronic structure, force field and ir-orders of bonds which take place in the porphyrin cycle as a result of successive single-electron reduction: from monoanion to tetraanion.
