Abstract
The photodvnmtc prooerttes o+ ch1or.ne e trtmetnvi ester(Eá methyl pheophorbid a (MPh) and pheophvtin a (Ph) in Ehrllch carcinoma cells were investigatea ooth in vitro ana in vivo. Mu above mentioned ohotoseneitizere(PS) induced the hotoirradiated death o4 neoolaem cciii. There was an inverse relationshlo between the hvdroDhobictty of the PS and ite ohotodvnamic activity Uess hvbroahobic Eó was shown to be most eF4ective PSI'. ccoraina to our data irradiation of Ehrlici, carcinoma cefle in the oresence of E. causea a aramatic aecrease in ATP level. The latter could be connected with suporession of the intensity of anaerobic glvcolvsis ana conEumDtion of oxygen. It could be supposeb that a decrease in AlP level in Ehrlich carcinoma cells is mainly due to th irncouplinç of OxIdiitive phophory1aition. At the same time. upp1ementrv addition of doxorubicin a chemical decreaging thea functional activity of mitochondria) to E increased both in vitro and in vivo of phototoc i ci ty of Eo. The key rol e of an enerceti c status of tumour cells in their resistance to the photodynamic action is proposed.
