Damage thresholds or InAs surraces both bare and antireflectin coated have been measured Lor single pulses or 2OILs duration and beam spot diameter O. 5cm. The dependence or thresholds on the surrace preparation procedure was round. The perrormed investiga tions oI damaged sites with help or optical and scanning electron mic roscopes and Xray microprobe analiser made evident that the surrace heating leaded to the damage.
