Abstract
This paper describes how to produce synthetic holograms of sub-micron still-lifes using scanning electron microscope imagery. This includes a discussion of the problems encountered acquiring and processing imagery for this study such as creating artistically pleasing still-lifes and preparing specimens in the sub-micron domain. Also discussed is the preparation of specimens for long term exposure to SEM scanning beams. Additional problems encountered include lighting and illumination, illumination uniformity problems, and camera and subject motion. The paper also includes a discussion of the photographic and holographic processing of the holographic materials.
