Abstract
We used back propagation and Kohonen neural networks to classify IR spectra. In three experiments the performance of back propagation in classifying IR spectra into a number of predefined categories was evaluated. In another experiment how well a Kohonen network was able to find the same categories of IR spectra humans use was tested.
