Abstract
This paper describes the design and development of a 200-W output multiplexer for transponders used in 12-GHz-band broadcasting satellites. This multiplexer consists of singly terminated four-pole elliptic-function filters designed by taking into account their internal electric field intensity and thermal/mechanical characteristics. Thermal vacuum tests and high- power tests show that the multiplexer meets the requirements of very low-loss, high power capacity, and good thermal/mechanical stability.
