Abstract
Wire-grids with high reflectance can be built using thick wires in properly spaced arrays. At a frequency around 140 GHz grids of capillary tubes with an outer diameter up to 0.5 mm, spaced by about 1 mm, satisfy the conditions for polarisation sensitive reflection and transmission. Forced circulation of a cooling fluid allows CW operation at high power densities.
