Abstract
The resonant frequency of a rectangular coupling aperture in the transverse plane of a rectangular waveguide is calculated by using the moment method together with a set of simple-form aperture field basis functions. The calculated resonant frequency and the response of an X-band bandpass filter of about 2O bandwidth have been verified by experiments.
