Abstract

C₆₀ carbon clusters (fullerenes) were prepared by laser vaporization of a graphite target using a near infrared laser. A macroscopic amount of carbon deposit enabled us to apply the method of chemical extraction of C₆₀ and its identification by UV spectrophotometry.
