Abstract
A new method for angular measurement is presented. The theoretical sensitivity is very high. The prelimina- ry experiments are reported. The basic principle is to rotate a crystal quartz plate in a HeNe laser cavity to make the laser mode split. The magnitude of mode split represents the angle of the rotation.
