Abstract
It is important to develop new concepts that may lead to formulate, on a sound basis, procedures for designing and analyzing novel optical systems. For example, in connection with off-axis unstable laser resonators, several efforts have been addressed to evaluating the axial behaviour and to providing high far- field energy concentration, by using noncentrally obscured, circular and rectangular apertures.
