Abstract
The ERFs of optical system with shaded aperture were studied. The two types of shaded aperture were studied. The first one is TA in which the amplitude transmittance decreases gradually from the center of the pupil toward its edge, and the second one is TB in which the amplitude transmittance increases from its center toward the edge. For comparison the ERF of the optical system with clear aperture, Tc in which the amplitude transmittance is uniform in all region of pupil was computed. ERFs of the optical systems with the shaded aperture were also calculated when the system has either a single aberration such as defous, spherical aberration and coma or a combination of the aberrations.
