Abstract
Digital simulation of the low space-bandwidth-product optical correlator with amplitude encoded binary phase-only filter (AEBPOF) is presented. The low resolution input pattern and computer generated filter consist of small numbers of pixels typical for recent spatial light modulators controlled by computer. The transmittance is assumed to be constant over each pixel. The impulse response and the diffraction efficiency of AEBPOF are analyzed and compared to the phase encoded binary phase only filter (PEBPOF). Numerical analysis of the influence of "sinc" modulation due to the finite aperture of pixels is discussed.
