Abstract
After reviewing the history of holographic techniques which render so-called omnidirectional holograms (00H), - except of the methods of multiplexing, - i.e., holograms which, when reconstructed, show a horizontal viewing angle of 3600 , this paper reports on three holographic recording schemes which allow recording omnidirectional holograms in a single shot. Examples are given how these can he used not only in metrology brit also in physico-chemical and biological, environment- related studies.
