Abstract
The radiative properties of a material can be modified by ruling a grating on its surface. The shape of the grating is optimized to get a specified reflectivity. The design technique uses the homogenization concept to replace the grating by an equivalent pile of homogeneous layers. This assumption is checked by comparison with a rigorous volumic integral method.
