Abstract
An alternative method for visibility measurements on interference fringes immersed in speckle noise is presented. It is based on the intensity of the first order peaks obtained by digitally Fourier transforming the fringe pattern. Computer simulated experiments show acceptable results even in the presence of highly noise speckle background.
