Abstract
The optical part of electromagnetic radiation offers a wide set of possibilities for process control in laser material machining and transformation. Pyrometry, calorimetry, image acquisition and processing, photodiode sensing, spectroscopy are used to monitor and control cutting, welding and surface treatment of many materials.
