Abstract
A new powerful approach to multiframe Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) is proposed in the paper. Unlike the traditional locally applicable techniques for PTV, the correspondences between separate frame particles are established to satisfy a global criterion using Dynamic Programming (DP). The pairing consistency is checked via a statistical test. The algorithm developed can be utilized for rigid motion analysis through marker tracking as well. The performance results for 300-400 particle tracking and the accuracy achieved are given.
