Abstract
A new method to linearly measure the phase of light wave on interferometric fiber optic sensor is presented in this paper. We linearly modulate the phase of one optic fiber arm of Michelson a great quantity (2n or more). If this modulated light interferes with another arm , the subsequent interferential signal will be a cosine function, and it's phase includes the phase information of Michelson fiber optic sensor. If it is compared with the reference electric sine signal ,we will obtain the time difference of these two signal by pass- zero detection, and it is linear with the phase change of sensor resulted from environment factors. This method needs neither closed-loop servo system nor two LD light sources of different wave length, and it also needs no appendent optic fiber arm. This method is very simple to realize.
