Abstract
The response speed and bistability of electro-optical effect characterizing ferroelectric liquid crystals with surface stabilization (SS FLC) open up new prospects for development of liquid crystal displays (LCD) for optical memory and information processing systems. This paper presents experimental results of investigation of the parameters and transfer characteristics of a matrix LCD based on smectic C* in various spectral ranges of modulated radiation.
