Abstract
Digital image matching permits to analyze aerial photographs for subtle changes that are not visible to the unaided eye. These changes can be portrayed in pictorial form - a "change image" - which provides a cost effective early indicator of impending environmental problems. The digital image matching problems encountered in low altitude aerial photographs are studied here, and examples are shown of this method applied to enviromental assessement studies.
